Pellet

Pellets produced by Warmeston OÜ under the trade mark of A-pellet are of high quality and calorific value.  Pellets are a proven and environmentally friendly wood product, and the raw material used for its production is a 100% renewable natural resource.

Pellets are a local and completely renewable source of energy, which is also affordable for everyone. As a result of environmental awareness, more and more pellets have started to be used for household heating, because it saves the environment, money, and time. Especially here in Estonia, where pellets are the only local source of energy, the use of which can be fully automated, while it is a clean and 100 percent renewable fuel.

Pellets have been used for heating for decades, but only in the last decade have pellet stoves and boilers suitable for home users been created, which in terms of ease of use are comparable to both oil and gas boilers. Pellet heating is a reliable alternative to all common types of heating, including geothermal heating, because pellet heating has relatively low installation costs and a reasonable price per kilowatt.

USING PELLETS IS A SMART AND ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY CHOICE

Wood as a raw material for pellets is a renewable energy source and it grows around us. Since the raw material of the pellets produced in Estonia is local wood, significantly less energy is also used to bring them to the end consumer. There is no risk of environmental pollution when warehousing and storing pellets. The amount of carbon dioxide released when burning wood is the same as the amount of carbon dioxide that the tree has bound with itself during its growth and would be released if the tree fell into the forest and rotted on the ground. Thanks to this, the entire ecological footprint is significantly smaller. Wood pellets are cylindrical sticks with a diameter of 6 mm, which are produced using sawdust and planer shavings generated in forestry and wood production. The wood waste material is first broken into parts of the same size and then pressed into pellets. Since Estonia is located in a forest belt, wood has been used and processed here for a long time. As long as wood is processed, sawdust and planer shavings are also produced, and it is always possible to produce pellets.

EN𝘱𝘭𝘶𝘴® SHOWS QUALITY

Just like any fuel, pellets are also produced with different calorific value and ash content. In the case of pellets, these indicators mainly depend on the type of wood used and the technology used in production.

In order to orientate yourself in the market, there is an internationally agreed-upon EN𝘱𝘭𝘶𝘴® standard: A1 – Premium, i.e. the highest quality and lower ash content, and A2 and B – for commercial use. All manufacturers are certified, assigned a unique ID number, and the entire production process is constantly controlled.

If the pellet does not have the appropriate marking and the seller cannot prove its origin, such a pellet with a high yield does not meet the requirements. In the worst case, it can even damage the burning device used. A pellet that bears the manufacturers name, EN𝘱𝘭𝘶𝘴® number and logo on its packaging undoubtedly meets the required quality standards and is suitable for household use.
